A 51-member convening committee of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has been announced for Parbatipur upazila in Dinajpur. Engineer Md Shahidul Islam has been appointed as convener, while Md Sadikul Islam Alam will serve as senior joint convener. Several others have been assigned as joint conveners, member secretaries, and organizational secretaries.

Md Lokman Hossain (Khokon) has been named member secretary, and Md Zainal Abedin will act as senior joint member secretary. The committee also includes multiple joint member secretaries and assistant organizational secretaries. Palash Chandra Roy has been appointed organizational secretary, with several others serving as assistant organizational secretaries.

An elderly man named Md. Hafiz Uddin, aged 74, was killed after being struck by a speeding autorickshaw in Hossainpur upazila of Kishoreganj. The accident occurred on Wednesday morning in the Purba Dipeshwar area of the municipality. Hafiz Uddin was the son of the late Aftab Uddin from the same village.

According to local sources, the incident took place when Hafiz Uddin was crossing a road near his house and was hit by the autorickshaw, dying on the spot. A fire broke out late Tuesday night in the medicine store room of Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
